V&A - Talking in the living room (2)

The living room for a city and of the world. From many point of views.
The V&A in Dundee was an amazing discovery. You could get lost in watching the exterior, already expressing its soul. Then you entered this incredible world and architect Kengo Kuma's dream come true. Come true and shared.

He wanted to offer this: a living room for the city. Inside you can find the story and the heart of design, from Scotland and the world. Step by step, glance by glance, you find out that everything  is made by design.  You can reach the idea of human creativity but also of its efforts to better life and to make it easier sometimes.

That's why it looks like a living room for us all.

Through this museum Dundee found a stronger connection with its river. Wood and water hug into a museum. However, when you visit every room and you appreciate the different worlds of design (from textile and furniture to videogames), you find also a stronger connection with the world.

It's true, it's a historic occasion for Dundee, as director Philip Long said. And you can perceive the sense of pride here, as  John Alexander stated. It's shared as well, 'cause all these works tell us what we've been able to do during our history and push us to believe we can do this and more.

Try not to be moved in the Oak Room: no wonder that Mackintosh is one of Kuma's heroes. The language of nature and that of city: now they can talk in this wonderful living room.
